Description
B2 is the cloud object storage service from Backblaze, the publicly traded storage company Gleb Budman and four co-founders started in 2007. It serves hot data through an S3-compatible API at a fraction of hyperscaler list pricing, with free egress to partner CDNs and a monthly egress allowance tied to the amount stored. Teams use it for backups, media delivery, and ML datasets. Backblaze publishes its drive failure statistics and storage cost analyses publicly, a transparency practice the company has maintained for over a decade.
