Langtail
Collaborative prompt playground with testing and deployment
Langtail is profiled here as a Prompt Management tool for engineering teams. Read about features, pricing, and how it compares to related options in the tools directory.
Description
Langtail is a prompt development platform from a Prague-based team with roots at the developer-tools company Apify. It gives engineers and non-engineers a shared playground to draft prompts, parameterize them, and ship each version behind an API endpoint that application code calls without redeploying. Test suites run prompts against saved cases and assertions, which catches regressions before a prompt change reaches users. Non-technical teammates can adjust a prompt and ship it through the hosted endpoint while engineers keep the calling code untouched. That separation lets product and engineering iterate on prompts in parallel without blocking each other.
Key Capabilities:
Prompt playground with adjustable parameters and side-by-side model comparison
Versioned prompt deployment served through hosted API endpoints
Test suites with assertions and LLM-based checks in CI
Production logging with search across requests and responses
Team collaboration with environments for staging and production
Multi-provider support across OpenAI, Anthropic, and other model APIs
