Job description
About Xsolla
Xsolla is a global commerce company headquartered in Los Angeles, California, providing game developers—from indie creators to AAA studios—with tools and services to fund, distribute, market, and monetize their games. Operating as the merchant of record for over 1,500+ game developers, Xsolla enables creators to reach players and grow their businesses worldwide.
---
About The Role
Xsolla is transitioning into an AI-first company. As an AI Engineer Intern, you won't sit in the back office—you will build and ship code that directly reaches real users (internal teams or external game developers and players).
You will focus on two core areas:
- Internal AI Initiatives: Building AI tooling and integrations to remove operational friction faster.
- Proof-of-Concept Builds: Creating applications on top of Xsolla’s APIs and SDKs to demonstrate what is possible when building with AI as a core component.
---
Key Responsibilities
- Build & Ship Code: Collaborate with senior engineers to identify friction points and build production-grade AI solutions and integrations.
- API & SDK Development: Build applications on top of Xsolla's APIs/SDKs that demonstrate speed improvements via AI-assisted development.
- Agentic Tooling First: Use agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as your default, everyday workflow.
- Weekly Demos: Participate in weekly 30-second lightning-talk demos to showcase how you used AI to solve a specific problem that week.
- High-Autonomy Environment: Operate with minimal process—taking context, a problem, and mentor guidance to design and execute solutions independently.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration: Work alongside senior mentors and a global cohort of fellow interns trading ideas, code, and AI workflows.
---
What We're Looking For
- Education: Open to current undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related program.
- Proven Builder Mindset: Side projects, hackathon entries, or open-source contributions driven by personal curiosity.
- Hands-On AI Fluency: Demonstrated experience using agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to build real applications (not just prompting ChatGPT for explanations).
- Bias Toward Action: Ability to start building and problem-solving through ambiguous requirements before asking for a spec.
- Full-Stack Capabilities: Comfort developing modern full-stack solutions with a strong ability to learn quickly.
---
Application Requirements
To apply, you must include:
1. Portfolio Link: A link to a GitHub profile, deployed project, or self-directed work.
2. Short Response (2–3 sentences or a 2-minute Loom video):
> *"What's something hard you built recently, and why did you build it?"*
