Job description
About Roadrunner
Roadrunner is replacing broken legacy CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) software with a new agentic stack called PQA (Prompt, Quote, Approve), built on a data model designed for modern enterprise pricing.
As Kleiner Perkins' first incubation since Glean, Roadrunner is led by second-time founders with successful exits and a team of engineers from Snowflake, Databricks, Citadel, Meta, Robinhood, and Brex. The team operates fully in-person in San Francisco.
---
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Product Ownership: Build production-grade, fast, and reliable systems across Roadrunner’s core platform for Account Executives (AEs).
- Agentic AI Deployment: Design and ship proactive AI agents that automate quoting, complex deal modeling, and multi-step enterprise workflows.
- Enterprise-Scale Engineering: Build high-performance workflow engines that power approval flows for multibillion-dollar transactions with sub-millisecond response times.
- Direct Customer Feedback Loops: Work directly with AEs in the field to understand pain points, iterate rapidly, and continuously ship improvements.
Example Projects
- Rapid Feature Sprints: Taking new features from concept to production in two-week sprints, iterating directly with active field users.
- Proactive Quoting Agents: Building AI agents that surface pricing recommendations and model complex deal structures before an AE requests them.
- High-Throughput Approval Engines: Designing sub-millisecond approval workflow engines capable of handling enterprise-scale, multibillion-dollar deals.

What You’ll Bring

- High Autonomy: A strong builder's mindset with the ability to identify high-value problems and execute independently.
- Communication: Clear, direct communication across both technical and business audiences.
- Location: Based in San Francisco, CA (or excited to relocate) for an in-person team environment.
Bonus Points
- Hands-on experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production.
- Familiarity with agentic tooling, LLM evaluation frameworks, or RAG pipelines.
- Background as a founder or early-stage startup engineer with true end-to-end ownership.
- Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers or external technical stakeholders.
---
Benefits & Culture
- Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees and their families.
- In-Office Perks: Daily lunch, dinner, snacks, and coffee.
