Description
Fivetran is a managed data movement service founded in 2012 by George Fraser and Taylor Brown through Y Combinator. Its merger with dbt Labs closed in June 2026, and the combined company, operating as Fivetran + dbt Labs, pairs automated ingestion with governed transformation under one roof. Connectors maintain themselves: schema changes propagate automatically, and pipelines keep syncing without engineering attention. George Fraser remains CEO of the combined company with dbt Labs founder Tristan Handy as president, and existing connectors continue operating unchanged. A free plan covers low-volume pipelines for small teams.
Key Capabilities:
700+ fully managed source connectors
Automated schema drift handling and migrations
Change data capture for high-volume database replication
Integrated dbt transformations downstream of every sync
