Spacelift
IaC orchestration platform for Terraform, OpenTofu, and Pulumi teams.
Description
Spacelift is an infrastructure-as-code orchestration platform founded in 2019 by Marcin Wyszynski, a former SRE at Google and Facebook, and Pawel Hytry, headquartered in Redwood City, California. Wyszynski built the initial tooling as a contractor after watching teams fail to scale Terraform across multiple engineers, then co-founded Spacelift to solve the synchronization, governance, and drift problems that generic CI/CD pipelines can't address. He also co-founded OpenTofu, the Linux Foundation-backed open-source fork of Terraform after HashiCorp's 2023 license change, which gives Spacelift credibility across both the commercial and open-source IaC communities.
Key Capabilities:
Multi-IaC support across Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt, Pulumi, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Kubernetes
Automated plan and apply pipelines with state locking and drift detection
OPA (Open Policy Agent) policy engine for governance guardrails on every infrastructure change
Developer self-service with golden paths and predefined policy templates
Spacelift Intelligence conversational interface for natural language infrastructure management
Spacelift Intent open-source MCP server for executing infrastructure changes through conversational language
Audit trails and compliance tracking across all infrastructure modifications
Resource visibility across multi-cloud environments on AWS, GCP, and Azure
Version control integration with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket
Infrastructure lifecycle management covering provisioning, configuration, and governance
