Northflank
Deploy and scale workloads on your own cloud infrastructure.
Description
Northflank is a developer workload platform built by Will Stewart and Frederik Brix, who met as teenagers through online gaming and began building the product during their first year at university in 2016. The company was incorporated in 2019, is headquartered in London, and raised a $16M Series A led by Bain Capital Ventures in November 2024. Its primary differentiator against Render, Railway, and Fly.io is BYOC deployment, which runs the entire platform inside a customer's own AWS, GCP, Azure, or bare-metal environment rather than shared infrastructure.
Key Capabilities:
BYOC deployment across AWS, GCP, Azure, and bare-metal servers
Kubernetes abstraction layer with PaaS-style developer experience
Git-based CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket integration
Preview environments and ephemeral environments per branch
Managed databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
Background workers, cron jobs, and scheduled tasks
AI workload support for inference, training, and notebook deployments
Internal service networking and service discovery
Infrastructure as code for environment configuration
Logs, metrics, and observability tooling
Full REST API for automation and internal developer portal integrations
Multi-tenant runtime support within customer-owned cloud accounts
